In addition to having two pets of his own, he’s a volunteer at Adoption First near Jacksonville, Florida, and has also taken part in a mentorship program for dog training in San Antonio, Texas.
Swainston started taking shelter dogs on runs in late 2023 and quickly realized this provided them with more than mere physical activity. Regular runs helped fearful dogs open up, making it easier for them to get adopted after Swainston showcased their adorable personalities on social media.
Dog Trainer – It’s ForTheDogs (@forthedogs)One of his most popular videos saw Swainston training for a marathon by running 26 miles, each with a different rescue dog. He’s hoping his videos will change the way people look at shelter dogs and make them realize they can adapt to pretty much anything if you treat them with enough love and care.

“He may be “just a dog,” but he’s the one who plays Connect 4 with me when I want to escape the world for a bit,” it says in the text placed across the video, which received close to 4 million views.
Other TikTok users were amazed at Darrell’s abilities and hoped that he managed to win or that Adair would at least let him have it.

“you better let him win,” another added.
Adair later explained in the comments that sometimes she lets Darrell win, and other times, the dog lets her get a win. She also shared several follow-up videos showing more of their playtime.

A lot of commenters also proposed that the dog gets his signature done on the artwork in the form of a plaque or paw signature.

]]>The Wildlife Wonders exhibition is highlighted by a giant bronze octopus sculpture titled “The Arms of Friendship.” Spanning 36 feet, the piece includes sculptures of some of the world’s most endangered species, like rhino and hippopotamus, resting on the octopus’ tentacles.
The visitors are encouraged to sit on the tentacles to get a better feel of the sculpture and the message behind it and spend some time with animals they might never be able to witness in person.
“In the last 50 years, wildlife populations have plummeted by 69% globally. We are now facing the world’s sixth mass extinction,” Gillie said in a statement. “This crisis is beyond description, yet we remain hopeful and committed to witnessing change within our lifetimes. We trust that our art and the stories we tell can inspire people to engage in vital conversations and take meaningful action.”
Wildlife Wonders includes two more massive sculptures: “The Wild Table of Love” and “The Hippo Was Hungry To Try New Things With Rabbitwoman.” The former one consists of a bronze table featuring animals and the duo’s famous characters, Rabbitwoman and Dogman, with seats left empty for humans. The latter one captures a conversation between a hippo and a Rabbitwoman.
Wildlife Wonders exhibition will remain on display in front of World Trade Center Oculus until July 31st, 2025, so make sure to check it out if you have a chance.
