Emilie Høyrup found endless joy when she stumbled upon the magical world of crochet and never looked back. She’s the founder of the popular crochet brand Bomuldskys, and her creations often take the shape of delicious foods that we all know and love.

Høyrup is a textile artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark, who sees crochet as her sanctuary of serenity that allowed her to embrace her creative side.

“As a lover of all conceivable creative challenges, I’ve always yearned for an outlet to express my artistic side. Over time, I realized the importance of setting aside time in my everyday life for creativity – a joyful pursuit that brings me immense satisfaction and reflection,” she wrote on her official website.

Høyrup’s love for crochet led to the foundation of her brand Bomuldskys, which borrows its name from the Danish word for “cotton kisses”. She opted for this name because she always enjoyed the soft and airy nature of cotton flowers, and she wanted her crochet art to evoke the same feeling in other people.

Høyrup finds inspiration in all walks of life, but she caught her eye with her food-inspired crochet creations. They take the shape of fruits, veggies, cookies, pancakes, macarons, and many other sweet treats, and she shared countless free patterns on her website for everyone who’s willing to try recreating her work.

Emily Henegar has a long list of favorite recording artists, and her love for them shines through her cookie art. She’s been making cookies for as long as she can remember, and most of them are inspired by her favorite musicians – some of whom even got to see try them first-hand!

Henegar’s brand Cookie in the Kitchen is followed by over 200,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, and she’s basically been running it since she was 11 years old. This was when she convinced her sister to help her draw a logo for her business, and she had quite a few orders after handing out the first batch of her cookie samples and business cards around the neighborhood.

Henegar developed her decorating skills in the years to come, and most of her cookies are now inspired by her favorite musicians, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Olivia Rodrigo. Some of them even got to try them in person, such as Chappell Roan, Reneé Rapp, and Em Beihold.

Even though most of her cookies these days are inspired by music, making people happy and being a part of their big moments remains her priority.

“Whether I’m making cookies for Harry Styles or my next-door neighbor, I strongly believe that everyone deserves their significant moments, relationships, and stories to be celebrated – big and small. My hope isn’t simply to provide you with beautiful & delicious cookies, but to help you & the people you love to feel seen,” she wrote on her official website.

Anna Mason’s passion for art has followed her since her youth, but she gave it up for seven long years. She decided she’d been sidelining her creativity for too long and started painting again, impressing everyone around her with her incredibly detailed watercolor paintings that depict food in a realistic light.

Mason spent her childhood years enamored with art, but something shifted once reality kicked in. Pursuing art didn’t feel like a viable career option, so she studied history, spent some time working in insurance, and tried to reconnect with her creative side by getting a master’s in interactive media.

She spent most of her 20s working in local government management, and seven long years went by before she finally summoned the courage to pick up the brush again.

“I’d tried a few times in those 7 years to pick up a brush but it always felt so difficult to start. For me, my main block was that I could never think of what to paint. And I also had a sense that anything I did paint would be a pretty pointless and frivolous waste of time!” Mason wrote on her official website.

After overcoming her creative block, Mason started painting every day, and many of her watercolor paintings share a common theme. She’s mostly inspired by nature and food, and she’ll win you over with her incredible realistic paintings of fruits, veggies, pastries, and other delicious treats.

Pastry chef and social media star Amaury Guichon continues to amaze the world with his impressive chocolate creations. Recently, Guichon showcased the full scope of his talent by making a gigantic chocolate banana sculpture that broke the Guinness World Record.

Using only chocolate and food coloring, Guichon built an enormous half-peeled banana with a tip dipped in chocolate.  It measures 66 in (167.64 cm) x 29.57 in (75.1 cm) and is deemed the largest chocolate sculpture of fruit by official Guinness World Record evaluators.

“There are a handful of us chefs in the world able to craft chocolate at that scale. Not only is the material very precious and expensive, but it requires a lot of work, year after year, to be able to master it enough to bend it to your will,” Guichon explained.

Guichon also shared the laborious process behind the gigantic chocolate banana sculpture in a clip posted on his official TikTok profile. It shows the chef building the sculpture by molding the chocolate, assembling the individual pieces, and applying the finishing touches to give it a realistic look.

Embroidery is a truly unique craft that can take many different shapes and forms, and no one is doing it like Youmeng Liu. Embroidery Code founder made a name for herself with her intricate food-inspired embroidery, and her creations look so realistic that you’ll want to take a bite.

It’s been over a decade since Liu kicked off her embroidery journey, and a visit to Dali, China was a turning point for this aspiring artist. This was where she was first introduced to punch needle embroidery and learned the technique from local artisans before deciding to put her own twist on it.

“After some years, she redeveloped the traditional punch needle techniques to her own unique style and complexity.  The Bai minority punch needle embroidery was done in a single layer like carpet. Youmeng reinvented the technique and added multiple layers and sculpting to create a more realistic and complex look.,” she writes on her official website.

Liu found inspiration in many different places over the years, but her outlook changed when she started using her skills to work on food embroidery. She made a pledge to herself to stitch together  301 embroidered artworks of common edible food items, as a way of exploring people’s relationship with food and the role it plays in their lives.

Still life is one of the first things people paint in an art class, so it’s not hard to find artists inspired by food, but none of them compares to Julia Stankevych. Her incredibly realistic oil paintings depict different types of food in their best light, and they’ll truly make your mouth water.

Stankevych is an oil painter from Ukraine, whose amazing food art attracted almost 200,000 followers and millions of views to her Instagram page. She wants her three-dimensional representations of food to transcend traditional painting, and that’s why she enjoys using newspapers as a canvas.

Stankevych came up with the idea to focus on painting food during her travels through Indonesia, Turkey, France, and Egypt. The rich tapestry of global culinary experiences she got to explore significantly influenced her artistic vision.

“I like to depict traditional foods from different countries in my painting style. As a passionate foodie, I aim to capture and convey the joy and vibrancy of food, transforming each piece into a sensory celebration that invites viewers to savor the visual delight of everyday sustenance,” she writes on her Etsy page.

Stankevych shared hundreds of food videos on her Instagram page over the years, and they became a viral sensation because they perfectly capture every step of her creative process.
