]]>Called “Dumpster Gallery,” the project saw Sunday Nobody create a miniature art gallery inside a dumpster. The gallery features various artworks accompanied by tiny figurines of raccoons in trench coats, which probably “sneaked” in to check out the exhibition.
The artist created everything from scratch, including the dumpster, the insides of the gallery and its contents, and raccoon figurines. The artworks were tattoo machine-drawn versions of some of the most iconic photos found on the internet.
After realizing that the dumpster looked “way too clean,” he proceeded to give him wear and tear treatment while also painting graffiti on it and placing various stickers. He then found an abandoned alley in a part of the city known for art galleries and left the “Dumpster Gallery” for people to find.
As part of the project, Sunday Nobody created large-scale versions of the artworks in the miniature gallery and is currently offering them for sale on his official website. He also shared several videos on Instagram that documented his creative process.

]]>The pieces Grieve makes mostly depend on the current season as she harvests the material from the woods and fields that surround her home. In the summer, for example, she focuses on pieces made from dandelions and willow bark. In the winter, she will turn to “long leafy things”.
“There are many things I enjoy about weaving but most important, I think, is the beautiful and tactile way it allows you to connect with the seasons, the plants, and the land,” she says on her official website.
In order to make her miniature baskets, Grieve first has to prepare the plants. This is done by removing soft parts of the plant and drying the remaining fiber. After that, she soaks the fibers to make them flexible, and the weaving can begin.
Grieve is looking to introduce others to her technique and often shares tutorials on her Instagram page and website. She is also writing a book in which she’ll detail her entire creative process.

]]>Originally from Olympia, Washington, Young is now based in New York City, at the very center of contemporary creation. “A typical weekend is full of as much art making as possible,” he remarked in an interview with the Urban Outfitters blog. His work also includes producing limited-edition apparel and tote bags, with his illustrations stamped across them.
“I sketch a lot of ideas out as I go and usually make endless drafts before starting a painting,” says Young, relaying the amount of effort that goes into each of his pieces.“I’m always sort of rebelling against what I’ve done before,” he admits, adding that he doesn’t want to “make the same thing over and over again.”
Amongst his more original creations are reinterpretations of astrological symbols and flowers painted on top of a bag of Doritos. “The potential for what art can do is limitless,” he stresses. “One of my biggest take always is the amazing experience of being able to visualize something in my mind and then set down to actualize it. We all have that ability. Once we start to learn and work with it the world really does start to open it.”
Perhaps… But, at least for some of us, the process of artistic creation comes more naturally.
